As our firm continues to expand and provide quality service to our clients, we are looking for an International Senior Tax Associate to join the professional team at our Miami office. The professional chosen to occupy this position will provide advice and strategic solutions, guiding clients through local and global tax matters, which should be reflected in the growth and consolidation of our tax department. 

General Description of Position Responsibilities:

The International Senior Tax Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing tax services, tax compliance services, tax representation and consulting services to clients. The ideal candidate will be assisting the Tax Manager, Supervisor and/or the Partner in Federal and State Income Tax Planning, Estate Tax Planning and Projection Tax Calculations, Tax Research and Analysis to determine the financial consequences of changes in tax laws. The International Senior Tax Associate will provide in all its functions a high-quality service on time and within budget, guaranteeing the achievement of established objectives and client satisfaction.

Job Requirements and Preferences:

Education/ Certification(s) Preferred Requirements: 

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 
  • Must have a CPA active License or must be a CPA Candidate.
  • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Must have extensive experience in Accounting, Tax, and as a Public Accountant.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Master’s degree in taxation (MST) preferred. 
Software Skills:
  •  QuickBooks, Ultra Tax, MS Office Suite, Tax research Apps. 
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.

Experience:

  • International Tax experience within public accounting firms (at least three Years), with compliance knowledge of Forms 5471s, 5472s, FBAR filing, and FATCA, an also solid understanding and skilled in Foreign and Domestic Streamline Filings.
  • Extensive experience with entity returns, amended returns, and dual status tax returns.
  • Expertise in preparing forms 1116, 2555, 8621, 8843, FBAR, 8938, 3520, 8858, and Exit tax.
  • 3+ years providing accounting and tax counselling to clients.
  • Proficient in managing client communications, tax research, and handling confidential information.
  • Must be fluent in Spanish and English due to extensive number of Hispanic clients.

In your role as International Senior Tax Associate, you will:

  • Offer elevated consulting services to clients at a high level.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Recognize and execute tax planning and consulting opportunities for clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive technical reviews of tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments for a diverse range of clients, including partnerships, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, trusts, and individual taxpayers.

The ideal candidate must have a CPA active license, a Master’s degree in taxation (MST) or accounting, at least five (5) years of International Tax experiencie within public accounting firms with compliance knowledge of Forms 5471s, 5472s, FBAR filing, and FATCA, and also solid understanding of IRS Voluntary Disclosure Programs.
